1999/2000 Coalition Accomplishments:
- We also worked with the Faith Communities Against Hate Crimes; the Office of Intercultural Affairs, City of Santa Fe and the Municipal Court Judge, among others, on the passage and implementation of the SF City Hate Crimes ordinance.
- Coalition actively supported collective bargaining for Santa Fe City workers, as well as County workers, through letters, public testimony and phone calls. We staffed a Coalition table and attended a rally at the Roundhouse (State Capitol Building) in support of public employees and their unions. The Coalition was named as a friend of the court in an AFSCME union suit of the State of New Mexico regarding the continuation of collective bargaining. These union contracts are the only protection against discrimination GLBT workers have in our state
